Celebrating Life

May 7, 2022

This exhibit explores the long history of how humans have connected and continue to connect with the Chihuahuan Desert. For thousands of years humans have utilized nature for food, tools, trade, shelter, and artistic expression. Artifacts, images, videos, and interactive's in the exhibit provide examples of this timeless connection. A common theme throughout the exhibit is how Indigenous groups in the Chihuahuan Desert continue to honor traditional ancestral ways and maintain a deep respect for the natural world.

This exhibit was a collaboration between the 2022 Museum Studies class at UTEP and the Centennial Museum. It is a semi-permanent exhibit.
